Meet & Greet with students from GJU & UCC

Exchange students from the two partner universities will first talk about their experiences at H-BRS. Afterwards, there will be time for networking, exchange and questions to the students and their home universities.

Cultural-historical seminar weekend in Berlin

41 international students took part in the study trip to Berlin organized by the International Office and were very enthusiastic afterwards.

The trip focused on deepening their knowledge of the political system and parliamentary democracy in Germany as well as locating political events in Berlin's capital city at architectural
sites of recent German history, the connection between National Socialism, the Cold War, German division and German reunification.The participants also learned a lot about the history of the GDR as a surveillance state and were able to gain impressions of the effects on its victims.

Despite the packed programme, the students had enough time to explore Berlin on their own and get to know each other better.

Special offers for students at the H-BRS careers fair

At the university's careers fair, you will have the opportunity to make contact with around 150 companies over two eventful days. In addition, there is a dynamic programme with lectures and coaching sessions on important career development and job applications.

Career fair: ENGAGEMENT WELTWEIT 2024 in Siegburg (in German)

ENGAGEMENT WELTWEIT 2024 will take place in Siegburg on 23rd November 2024 and will provide interested visitors with a unique opportunity to connect with renowned organizations and institutions in international development cooperation and humanitarian aid. The event will also feature insightful presentations, panel discussions and exhibitions.

Bridge2Success is offering sponsorship to 20 international students who are interested in finding out about internships and job opportunities in this field.

Webinar on the topic of careers in the German labour market

In this two-hour webinar, you will gain valuable insights into current developments in the German job market and learn why Germany needs global talent to grow.

The DZNE presents itself as an employer: Discover Career Paths in Neuroscience

Are you interested in a future in scientific research?

Join the Next Stop: Job on Site Employer Visit at the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) on 3rd December 2024 from 14:30-16:30.

This on-site visit includes an introduction to the DZNE, talks with PhD students about career opportunities and more, as well as a lab tour with ongoing experiments and discussions.

The visit is open to students and graduates of biology, medicine, computer science, mathematics, physics, social sciences, public health, nursing, health economics and public health.

International Get Together on 27th November 2024

The international office invites all students to our International Get Together which will take place on 27th November 2024, starting at 6 pm in Café Blau (Franziskanerstraße 9, 53113 Bonn).

All students who are interested in intercultural exchange or in a stay abroad will have the opportunity to network with international students and exchange students of the university and to exchange information about their home countries.
For all international students the evening is a good opportunity to get to know fellow students better and to make new contacts in an informal atmosphere. For all of you it is also a good opportunity to talk casually in English, German or another language and to improve your language skills.

Then please register until 17th November 2024 by sending an email with the following information: Name, nationality, study programme and if you plan to study abroad your destination country.

Deadline for funded study visits to the UK: 22.11.2024

Students can apply for the new scholarship programme “nrw:exchange - Your UK Scholarship” until 22nd November 2024.

The programme supports short stays for Bachelor's and Master's students in the United Kingdom. It is intended to give students from North Rhine-Westphalia access to universities and research institutions in the UK now that Erasmus+ funding has been discontinued.

Applications can be submitted 21 days before the planned stay.

The selection will be carried out by a DAAD commission.

Do a paid internship with RISE worldwide

The application portal for the global internship programme RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) has been open since 15th October and will remain open until 30th November 2024 for Bachelor's students from the fields of natural sciences and engineering as well as medicine, psychology and computer science. Unfortunately, Master's students are not eligible to apply.

The German Academic Exchange Service is again awarding scholarships for research internships for the year 2025: There are almost 600 projects from more than 40 countries to choose from - a good plan for the semester break next summer.

The internship period is 10 to 12 weeks, with the earliest start date being 1st June 2025.
Scholarship holders receive a monthly DAAD full scholarship rate and a travel allowance.
