Successful International Days in Sankt Augustin and Rheinbach
On 29th October 2025, the International Day transformed Hochschulstraße on the Sankt Augustin campus into a meeting place for international encounters. The International Office, together with the departments, the Language Centre, representatives of the DAAD, placement agencies and student initiatives, provided information about spending time abroad during studies. In addition, the University of Westminster, Regent's University London, Hawaii Pacific University and Beijing Foreign Studies University were represented with their own stands and provided information about study opportunities at their institutions. A varied programme with lectures on application processes and funding opportunities as well as personal experience reports from former outgoing students rounded off the day. For our Rheinbach students who were unable to attend International Day, the International Office hosted a Study and Internship Abroad Information day together with the departments and the language centre. We would like to thank all participants and visitors of both events!

International students "conquer" Hamburg
From 21st to 23rd November 2025, 25 international students had the opportunity to get to know Hamburg as part of the International Office's cultural programme.
Although the journey with Deutsche Bahn proved difficult, everyone was more than compensated by the wonderful views from the plaza of the Elbphilharmonie.
The weather was wonderful (sunny but cold), and on the second day, the students were able to get to know some of Hamburg's many faces on a very varied city tour full of wit and humour: the Inner Alster, the old town hall, the canals, the Speicherstadt, the old Elbe tunnel, the St. Nikolai memorial and the harbour, to name but a few. They even took the ferry to Övelgönne. And of course, the Beatles, St. Pauli, the Reeperbahn and the fish market were not to be missed.
Before heading back on the last day, there was a very exciting tour in and around the Green Bunker in St. Pauli, which opened in 2024.
A great side effect of this long weekend was that the students got to know many other international students and their cultures better.
