Dear students and readers,

We hope that you have had many opportunities this summer to get out and about both nationally and internationally. If you are open to further opportunities, you will find plenty of additional suggestions in this newsletter.

In any case, some of our international students made good use of the summer, as can be seen in the photo on an excursion to Limburg as part of the International Office's cultural programme.

Rooms wanted

Many new international students will soon be arriving at our university. Many of them do not yet have a room and international students in particular have a much harder time on the local housing market.

We therefore ask for your support:

Do you know of any available rooms or apartments?

Is there a room available in your apartment or in a shared flat?

Are you finishing your studies at our university and giving up your room?

Are you going abroad temporarily or are you doing an internship in another city or abroad and would like to sublet your room?

Or can you imagine taking in an international student temporarily?

New intercultural experiences are guaranteed!

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, please contact the International Office immediately.

RISE Germany 2025 – Research Internships in Science and Engineering

Are you doing a doctorate or research in the natural sciences, life sciences, engineering or computer science? Would you like to recruit an intern from North America, Great Britain or Ireland to support your research work?

Do you offer an internship as part of your doctoral thesis/research work?

RISE Germany places bachelor students from universities in the above-mentioned countries for a research stay at German universities or non-university research institutions.

The DAAD supports the research internships, which take place during the summer months, with scholarships financed by funds from the Federal Foreign Office and through institutional cooperation.

The research interns receive a monthly stipend, international travel expenses, insurance benefits and are invited to the RISE meeting in Heidelberg in July 2025.

The application period is 15 August to 30 September 2024.
